NextComp 2022
​The NEXTCOMP2022 conference was held at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, Wolmar, Flic-en-Flac, Mauritius on 6-8 October 2022.

The successful outcome of the two editions before this, generated an overwhelming response from our partners, sponsors, guest speakers and delegates, resulting in a unanimous request for the continuation of the NextComp conference. This motivated the Faculty of Information, Communication and Digital Technologies of the University of Mauritius to not only continue to organise the event but also expand its scope in the process. Submissions were invited from academia, government, and industry presenting novel research on state-of-the-art computing technologies, as well as case studies and implementation experiences. The conference addressed new developments in theory and practice in the area of Communication and Computer Networks, Security and Forensics, Intelligent Systems, Data Analytics, Information Management and Enterprise Systems, Bioinformatics and Healthcare Information Systems and ICT Practices & Applications. It provided an excellent opportunity for regional and international participants to connect, network and discuss how to develop innovative ideas and feasible solutions that will address the growing needs of technology.

NextComp 2022 attracted over 50 full-paper submissions from many countries including South Africa, India, China, United States of America, Pakistan, Reunion Island, Thailand, United Kingdom and Germany, France amongst others, highlighting the truly global character of the conference. Each submission was subject to a rigorous double-blind review process that involved evaluation by at least two reviewers. The quality of the papers and relevance of the research contributions were the main acceptance criteria.

NextComp 2022 publications are available in IEEE Xplore. Besides the paper presentations, the conference featured two keynote addresses by Prof. Gao, from Middlesex University, London, and G. R. Sinha, Adjunct Professor at International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB), as well as sessions dedicated for our industry partners.

NextComp 2019
The NEXTCOMP2019 conference was held at The Ravenala Attitude, Balaclava, Mauritius on 19-21 September 2019.
​
NextComp2019 provided a forum for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and share recent developments in the field of computing. The conference featured high-quality research in three distinct areas namely: Intelligent Systems and Applications, ICT4D, and Security and Communication Technologies. This year, we have the pleasure to host remarkable researchers from nineteen countries (Africa, Europe, Asia and Indian Ocean regions) to present their research.

NextComp 2019 attracted several full-paper submissions from over 19 countries including South Africa, India, Pakistan, Reunion Island, UAE, Portugal, and United Kingdom amongst others, highlighting the truly global character of the conference. Each submission was subject to a rigorous double-blind review process that involved evaluation by at least two reviewers. The quality of the papers and relevance of the research contributions were the main acceptance criteria.

NextComp 2019 publications are available in IEEE Xplore. Besides the paper presentations, the conference featured two keynote addresses by Prof. Wolfgang Heiden and Prof. Heiko Gewald, as well as sessions dedicated for our industry partners.

NextComp 2017
NextComp ​2017 was held on 19 - 21 July 2017 at the Le Méridien Ile Maurice Beach Resort in Mauritius.

The NextComp2017 conference provided a peer- reviewed platform for academia, government, and industry to present novel research on state of the art computing technologies, as well as case studies and implementation experiences. The conference addressed new developments in theory and practice in the area of Communication and Computer Networks, Security and Forensics, Intelligent Systems, Data Analytics, Information Management and Enterprise Systems, Bioinformatics and Healthcare Information Systems and Software Engineering Principles, Practices & Applications. It successfully promoted effective and vibrant networking among researchers and practitioners from around the world.

NextComp 2017 attracted a number of full-paper submissions from over different countries including South Africa, India, Pakistan, Reunion Island, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Algeria, Botswana and Saudi Arabia amongst others, highlighting the truly global character of the conference. Each submission was subject to a rigorous double-blind review process that involved evaluation by at least two reviewers. Reviewers were assigned based on their area of expertise and experience. Only papers having at least two favorable reviews and having passed a plagiarism check were accepted for oral presentation and publication in the NextComp 2017 conference proceedings. The final acceptance rate was of 46%. The quality of the papers and relevance of the research contributions were the main acceptance criteria.
